Common questions about our Los Sueños fishing charters: prices, timing, what's included and how to get to the marina from Jacó.

Booking

How much does a fishing charter on the Predator cost?

The half day (5 hours) is US$1,200 and the full day (9 hours) is US$1,400. Prices are per boat, not per person, for up to 4 anglers.

How many people can fish?

Up to 4 anglers. The boat is always private: it's just your group, the captain and the mate.

What's the difference between the half day and the full day?

The half day is 5 hours, from 7:00 AM to noon. The full day is 9 hours, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with more time to run offshore for sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi and tuna. Both can be inshore or offshore, depending on what you want to catch.

How do I check availability?

Send us your date and group size on WhatsApp or through the booking form. We'll reply to confirm availability and the next steps before you pay anything.

How do I book and what is the deposit?

Send us your date and group size. Once we confirm availability, a 50% deposit holds your date, and the other 50% is paid on the day of the trip.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cash, bank transfer, a payment link, or credit card. Card payments have a 13% charge.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the captain decides not to go out, or to come back early, because of the weather, a Coast Guard or Navy advisory, or unsafe conditions, you get a 100% refund with no penalty. If you prefer, we can move your trip to another date instead.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 30 days before your trip, you get a full refund. If you cancel with 30 days or less to go, the deposit isn't refundable. If the captain cancels for weather or safety, you always get a 100% refund.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Costa Rica requires a sport fishing license to fish from a boat. It isn't included in the price: it costs US$17 per person, and you can buy it online or on the day of the trip. Kids who fish need one too; guests who only come along don't. Get your license (INCOPESCA) ↗

A 28-ft Shamrock Express from 1991, fully restored and repainted in 2025, with a 330 HP Cummins 6BTA 5.9 diesel engine. She cruises at 20 knots and tops out at 26. She's rigged for inshore and offshore fishing, with GPS, a fishfinder, outriggers and a live bait well.
