Booking Terms

For charters booked directly with Predator Sportfishing. Bookings made through FishingBooker or another platform follow that platform's terms.

  1. Requests and confirmation

    Sending a request through this website, by email or on WhatsApp does not book the boat. Your trip is booked only when we confirm the date, the trip and the price with you in writing.

  2. Prices

    Prices are per boat, for up to 4 anglers, in US dollars: Half Day (5 hours) US$1,200, Full Day (9 hours) US$1,400.

    What's included in each trip is listed on our Rates page. If anything changes, the price we confirm with you in writing is the one that applies.

  3. Deposit and payment

    A 50% deposit holds your date once we confirm it. The other 50% is paid on the day of the trip.

    We accept cash, bank transfer, a payment link or credit card. Card payments have a 13% charge.

  4. Weather and safety

    The captain may cancel the trip, or return early, because of bad weather, a Coast Guard or Navy advisory, or conditions that aren't safe. In that case you get a 100% refund with no penalty, or a new date if you prefer and the boat is available.

  5. Cancellations and changes by the client

    If you cancel more than 30 days before your trip, we refund everything you've paid.

    If you cancel with 30 days or less to go, the deposit isn't refundable.

  6. Safety on board

    The captain is responsible for the safety of everyone on board and has the final word on the route, the conditions and whether it's safe to go out or to keep fishing. Please follow the crew's instructions at all times.

  7. Fishing license and regulations

    Costa Rica requires a sport fishing license to fish from a boat. It isn't included in the price: it costs US$17 per person and can be bought online or on the day of the trip.

    The Predator carries its own permits: a fishing license from INCOPESCA, a seaworthiness certificate from the MOPT and civil liability insurance with the INS.

  8. Information on this website

    We keep this website up to date, but species, conditions and schedules can change with the season and the day. If something matters for your trip, ask us before you book.
